The plumber fixed a leaking trap and shut-off valve underneath my kitchen sink. It was an emergency job and he came straight away at 21:00 in the evening. Yes. Wet underfloor systems laid, clipped, manifolded and pressure tested before the screed goes down. It works best planned in with an extension or a full floor replacement rather than retrofitted into one room.

Kitchen sink cupboard nine times out of ten. In Calderdale’s older stone terraces it’s often in the cellar head or under the stairs, and occasionally outside under a small metal cover in the pavement. Turn it clockwise until it stops.
Usually. Round here it’s often an old gravity-fed tank system, a partly closed valve, furred-up pipework or genuinely low incoming mains. Each has a different fix at a very different cost, so it’s worth diagnosing properly rather than throwing a pump at it.
