How a bathroom runs

Six stages, same order every time

01

Look at the room

We come out, measure up, talk through what you want and what the room will actually take. Then a written price.

02

Strip out

Old suite, old tiling and anything rotten underneath comes out and goes on the van. No skip left on your street for a fortnight.

03

First fix

Supplies and wastes re-run, falls set, valve positions fixed, trays set in. Pressure tested before anything closes up.

04

Boarding and tiling

Tile backer where it needs it, then tiling — ours or your tiler’s, whichever you’d rather.

05

Second fix

Suite, brassware, screens and mirrors fitted, wastes connected, everything run and checked again.

06

Silicone and hand over

Sealed, wiped down, waste taken away, and we run through anything you need to know about the controls.

What we fit

Whatever the room will take

  • Freestanding and fluted bathsIncluding floor-standing taps, which need the pipework planned long before the bath arrives.
  • Walk-in showers and wet roomsLevel access, linear drains, tanked and water tested before tiling.
  • Concealed cisterns and wall-hung WCsFrames set solid, so nothing moves in five years.
  • Vanities and vessel basinsWastes re-run to suit rather than making the basin fit the old pipe.
  • Heated rails and designer radsPlumbed into the circuit and balanced, not just hung on the wall.
  • Loft and en-suite conversionsSloping ceilings, tight footprints and soil runs worked out first.

FAQs

Bathroom questions

How long does a full bathroom take?

Most take somewhere between one and two and a half weeks depending on size, whether walls are being moved and how much of the pipework is being renewed. You get a realistic timescale with the quote, not an optimistic one.

Can I use my own tiler?

Yes, and plenty of customers do. We’ll do first fix, work to their dates and come back for second fix once the tiling is done. It just needs coordinating, and we’ll handle that with them directly.

Do you supply the suite or do I?

Either. Some customers want us to supply everything so there’s one price for the lot, others have already picked a suite and brassware they love. Just tell us which at quoting stage.

Can you fit a bathroom in a loft with sloping ceilings?

Yes — we’ve done a few. The constraints are head height over the bath or shower, where the soil pipe can reasonably run, and whether the floor will take the weight of a filled bath. All answerable before you commit.

What about a wet room — will it leak?

Not if it’s tanked and the falls are right. That’s the whole job: a properly formed fall to the drain, tanking taken up the walls, and a water test before a single tile goes on.

Can you move the toilet or bath somewhere else in the room?

Often, yes, but it depends on where the soil stack is and whether the waste can keep enough fall. We’ll tell you what’s possible on the first visit rather than agreeing and then finding out.

Do you fit underfloor heating in bathrooms?

Yes. Electric mats under tile are the usual choice for a single bathroom; wet underfloor makes more sense when a whole floor or an extension is being done at the same time.
